“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past… we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.

This quote was forwarded to me by an old friend back in the summer, and at that time I posted it on my facebook page. I thought it was a nice thing to think about for the coming New Year.

I was RAISED, I didn’t just grow up. I was taught to speak when I enter a room, say please & thank you, to have respect for my elders, lend a helping hand to those in need, hold the door for the person behind me, say “excuse me” when it’s needed, & to love people for who they are, not for what you can get from them. I was also taught to treat people the way I want to be treated.

I wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a great holiday and a very Happy New Year. This year has seen the growth of connecting with many friends old and new, the release of a new album and singles, much humor and introspection along the way as well as the loss of some good friends.

Its always a reflective time at the end of the year. A time to stop for a moment and go through all the things you wanted to accomplish… did I do this? check.. how ’bout that? well…. (and all this is between the holiday shopping and eating and visiting with friends and family and working etc…) Miracles Video

Every new year we make resolutions to change aspects of ourselves we believe are negative. Many of us revert back to the way we were before and feel badly about it. Just remember to never stop trying…. This year I challenge you to a new resolution. I challenge you to JUST BE YOURSELF. So, Happy Holidays!

and remember to be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each New Year find you a better “man”. Peace to all in the world !

…the passing of Phoebe Snow

Phoebe Snow passed away yesterday. She was my friend and neighbor in New Jersey. We shared so much of the same interests, views on life, and musical tastes. Her voice just dripped with soul. When she asked me to duet with her, I didn’t hesitate for a moment. The song we decided on, was Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds”. I’ll never forget some of our all night sessions at a local restaurant trying our best to solve the worlds problems. She had a great sense of humor. I can remember several years ago having a chance encounter with Phoebe at a park in upstate New York. When she asked me why I came up there, I told her “I love nature”. When I asked her why she came, she said “I love the peace”. Rest in peace Phoebe. Te adoro.
